Denisse Martinez of the Assistant Chief of Dallas County’s Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Management. She is also the Director of Dallas County’s Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC). She will give a presentation about what the LEPC in each county does, and how their resources can aid Fire Investigators. Her brief will include information about Tier 2 reports (which are annual inventories of the hazardous materials stored at the many facilities whom are regulated/monitored by the Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act), the LEPC’s state-wide resources and contacts, and how their collective of emergency management agencies, first responders, and industry representatives work together to understand chemical hazards in the community, develop emergency plans in the event of an accidental release, and look at ways to prevent chemical accidents.
NTFIA will hold our monthly meeting prior to the presentation.
